Karsan announces it has delivered 17 12-meter e-ATA electric buses to the Mersin Metropolitan Municipality. The project is part of a collaboration between the municipality and the European Union under the IPA II program. The Karsan e-ATA range was launched back in 2021.

Karsan delivers e-buses in Mersin

The 12-meter e-ATA delivered in Mersin, a port city on the Mediterranean coast of southern Turkey, are equipped with a 396 kWh battery, allowing a stated range of up to 400 kilometers with a charging time of approximately 2.5 to 3 hours. The buses are designed to carry up to 70 passengers and are powered by an electric motor producing 250 kW and 22,000 Nm of torque.

The delivery ceremony was held at the MEŞOT Public Transportation Complex and included representatives from local and national authorities, EU delegates, and Karsan executives. Among them were Mersin Mayor Vahap Seçer, EU Delegation to Turkey Cooperation Section Head Maria Luisa Wyganowski, and Transportation Sector Manager Dr. Göktuğ Kara. Karsan was represented by Deputy General Manager of Domestic Sales Muzaffer Arpacıoğlu, After-Sales Services Director Kubilay Dinçer, and Sales Managers Adem Ali Metin and Fırat Acar.
