Ebus Test 2025, with some out-of-competition surprises

This year’s test features a selection of 12-meter battery-electric buses (last year the focus was on 18-meter models) undergoing assessments on an urban circuit, with a focus on energy consumption, range, and charging performance. Participants? Iveco Crossway LE City Elec (presented in 2023), Scania-Higer Fencer F1 Integral EV (presented at IAA 2024, towards commercialization in Germany and Austria), Solaris Urbino 12 Electric in its latest update with modular drive approach, VDL Citea LF-122.

In addition to the main test vehicles, a few guest buses are present, including the Hess Swiss Ebus Plus 10.6-meter, the Mercedes-Benz eCitaro K and the and the Tremonia Sprinter City 75 Electric minibus, which will be tested separately: they are available for test drives but will not be included in the direct comparison. A Setra S9 converted to electric power is also present at the event.

The Ebus Test is supported by the public transport company of Bonn (SWB), which provides depot space and operational support. While the event primarily targets the German market, the participation of major manufacturers highlights its broader relevance within the European bus industry.
