Daimler Buses has opened its 100th eBus service centre for the Omniplus service brand in Lemgo, North Rhine-Westphalia, in the premises of AHL GmbH & Co. KG, a location of the Beresa Group. The center specialises in the maintenance and repair of the all-electric Mercedes eCitaro buses.

Live line working (LLW) meets all safety requirements at all Omniplus sites, the group states. Qualified personnel use specially insulated tools and are equipped with protective clothing for working directly on the battery.

Omniplus service employees receive specific training in how to correctly handle electric vehicles and their high-voltage technology. “This includes, among other things, work on the electric drive axle, on inverters, lines and fuses, and on roof-mounted air conditioning systems. The basis for this is a modern elevated work platform that makes it possible to work effectively and safely on roof-mounted Mercedes‑Benz eCitaro components. A crane can be used to transport the heavy batteries from the bus to a battery table, where they can also be repaired if necessary”, Daimler Buses underlines.

Mirko Sgodda, Head of Marketing, Sales and Customer Services Daimler Buses, explains: “The opening of our 100th eBus service centre is another milestone for us. Our customers in Europe have traditionally benefited from a comprehensive and highly professional service network, and we are continuing to drive forward the expansion of our service portfolio for electric vehicles. In doing so, we attach great importance to comprehensive service and the highest service quality.”
