The commercial vehicles retrofit subsidiary of the REV Mobilities group, named REV Bus&Truck, announces that it has acquired the retrofit operations of GreenMot following the latter’s receivership. The acquisition was formalised at the Villefranche-sur-Saône Commercial Court.

In 2021 GreenMot had launched a project for retrofitting intercity diesel buses to hydrogen fuel cell power. In early 2023 the first public order was achieved, with GreenMot commissioned to convert 49 Crossway into electric school buses.

REV Bus&Truck takes over GreenMot

The transaction includes the transfer of retrofit kit solutions approved by the French national retrofit regulatory authority (CNRV) for the Iveco Crossway Euro 6 and Iveco Crossway Low Entry Euro 5 models. In addition, REV Bus&Truck has assumed all active commercial and supplier contracts and has retained the full team of 20 employees and service providers previously dedicated to GreenMot’s retrofit business.

This acquisition is backed by the strategic support of Groupe Maurin, a major distributor of passenger cars and commercial vehicles in France, Belgium, and Spain, that is now the majority shareholder of REV Bus&Truck. The partnership, company states, secures a multi-million-euro investment aimed at supporting industrial process development, expanding the retrofit product range—including work on platforms such as the Mercedes Intouro—and building a reliable, long-term supply chain.

REV Bus&Truck’s general and operational management is overseen by Bertrand Berger and Olivier Marchegay.

Looking ahead, the company plans to relocate to a new industrial site in the Lyon region within the coming months and expects to recruit approximately ten additional employees by the end of 2025.

“The goal is to support the energy transition of local territories by providing practical decarbonisation solutions for school and interurban transport, aligned with the expectations of public authorities and operators committed to sustainable and economically responsible mobility,” said Bertrand Berger, CEO of REV Bus&Truck.
