Bozankaya wins a tender in Prague. After the supply of twelve 24-meter trolleybuses to Malatya and 12 18-meter vehicles to Sanliurfa and the order for the supply of 33 trolleybuses to Timisoara, including 8 12-meter and 25 18-meter vehicles, the Ankara-based manufacturer has won the tender put out by DPP Prague for the supply over the next 5 years of up to seventy 12-meter trolleybuses.

The proposed model is the SNG 12, while the electrical equipment is supplied by Medcom. The trolleybus will be equipped with traction batteries that will provide up to 15 km of autonomous travel. One of its first deployments will be on the 52 line being built.

The contract is worth about 1.1 billion kronor excluding VAT (about 43.5 million euros). In addition to the supply of the vehicles, special hardware and software for diagnosing vehicle faults are planned, as well as portable chargers and an energy management system for remote monitoring and control of the charging process.

SNG 12 by Bozankaya to Prague

The Bozankaya vehicle, of modern design, will be 12.150 meters long, will be able to accommodate 82 passengers, 32 of whom will be seated, including two folding seats; passengers will have access through three doors, with an entry height of 320 mm; the floor will be totally lowered. the maximum speed will be 70 km/hour. The vehicle will be fully air-conditioned. All trolleybuses in operation will then have the ability to travel stretches in autonomous operation.

Thus, the Prague Transport Company’s project to convert more than 10 bus lines to trolleybuses, partially in autonomous travel,  continues successfully. Thirty-five trolleybuses are already in operation, delivered between 2023 and 2024, including 20 24-meter Solaris Trollino , in service on line 59 to the Airport, 15 18-meter SOR/Cegelec, active on line 58.  With this delivery, up to 105 trolleybuses will be in service in Prague, which will be supplemented by subsequent orders, so as to have an entirely zero-emission fleet.
