Augsburg-based zero-emission vehicle manufacturer Quantron has been in provisional insolvency proceedings since last week. The company has released an official note about it on 31st October.

Quantron was initially seen as a rising star in alternative fuel trucks with goals to expand to North America and India, and had some business going on also in the bus segment: the 12-meter e-bus Quantron Cizaris was launched in 2022. First order was landed in Italy, where Quantron launched also a division.

Quantron’s insolvency: administrators are evaluating the situation

Since April, many workers report they haven’t received their salaries, leaving them in financial uncertainty, as recently reported on local media.

On 31st October Quantron stated that it is currently exploring “opportunities to successfully continue business operations”.

The Augsburg Local Court has appointed lawyer Constantin Graf Salm-Hoogstraeten from the restructuring law firm BBL as provisional insolvency administrator for the company’s assets. Together with his team, he will now analyze the company’s situation.

“We first need to get a precise picture of the figures and the situation on the ground before we can make any reliable statements about the company’s chances of continuing as a going concern,” said Salm-Hoogstraeten. His team is currently also examining the possibility of organizing pre-financing of insolvency benefits for the employees.

As reported on Sustainable Truck & Van, Quantron’s founder, Andreas Haller, is in rehabilitation following his recent heart attack in September 2024. The company is currently managed by Beate Reimann, Chief Financial OfficerRene Wollmann, Chief Technology Officer, and Denis Muratov, Chairman of the Supervisory Board and “Interim CEO”. Founded in 2019 as a spin-off of the Haller Group, Quantron currently employs about 90 people.
