Vdl Bus & Coach Sweden AB strengthens the organization with the appointment of Fredrik Dahlborg as new Managing Director. He will take on his new role from 16 August. In May, Umeå municipality in Sweden has announced that the Dutch company Bus & Coach is the winner of the tender for 25 electric buses: Vdl’s largest electric bus order for Sweden to date (Vdl will not only deliver the 25 Citeas Slfa-180 and the charging stations but will also be responsible for the implementation).

New managing director from 16 August

Fredrik Dahlborg has solid experience in the bus and coach industry, states a press release from Vdl Bus & Coach. For the last five years he was Scania‘s sales manager for buses and coaches in Europe and Eurasia, growing the business significantly and expanding the presence in the region. Fredrik spent a total of 15 years in various positions at Scania, starting with strategy and business development, followed by various commercial positions. Fredrik will take on his new role from 16 August.

The transition to emission-free public transport

“I am very honoured to join Vdl Bus & Coach at this exciting time of transition in the bus and coach industry. Vdl’s experience and leading position as a transition partner to emission-free public transport make it an interesting and challenging company to work for. I look forward to continuing this work together with the current team of Vdl Bus & Coach Sweden. As a fully owned subsidiary of Vdl we can further increase our presence in the Swedish market and further support our customers to make them even more successful”, says Fredrik Dahlborg.

Vdl, a stronger organization in Sweden

The organization will be strengthened not only by Fredrik Dahlborg but also by Lars-Olof Gummesson. Lars-Olof has nearly 20 years’ experience in the bus business, recently at Evobus Sverige where he was a key account manager. From July, Lars-Olof will join Vdl Bus & Coach Sweden as Sales Manager. Sami Ojamo (currently interim manager Vdl Bus & Coach Sweden AB and Vdl Bus & Coach Norway As) will continue in his current role as business development manager for the public transport market in Sweden, Norway and Finland. In this position his focus is on the transition to E- Mobility, innovation and new business. Sami will also be involved in the further expansion of VDL Bus & Coach Norway AS. In this role Sami will use his experience and expertise in the Scandinavian market to create optimal solutions for customers and bolster VDL Bus & Coach’s strong position as a transition partner to zero-emission transport.

“We are very pleased to welcome Fredrik Dahlborg and Lars-Olof Gummesson to our organization to further strengthen Vdl Bus & Coach Sweden AB. I am confident that with their extensive experience our new colleagues will be a real asset to our sales organization and, along with entire Vdl Bus & Coach Sweden team, will take the organization to a higher level. I would also like to thank Sami Ojamo for his excellent work as interim managing director” adds Marcel Jacobs, commercial director of Vdl Bus & Coach.
