The Center for Transportation and the Environment (CTE) is pleased to open registration for the 2022 International Zero Emission Bus Conference (ZEBCon), taking place September 19 – 21 in Anaheim, California.

ZEBCon 2022 will feature three days of programming that includes keynote speakers, panel sessions, networking opportunities, and a bus expo, as well as an optional ZEB 101 class and on-site tours of battery and fuel cell electric bus deployments.

2022 Zero Emission Bus Conference

ZEBCon is presented as “the primary event for professionals leading the charge to electrification — equipping school, transit, and shuttle bus managers with the necessary tools to electrify their fleets. Fleet managers and operators comprised more than half of attendees in previous years. With the recent growth in fleet electrification policies and resources, CTE looks forward to welcoming even more participants this year from all facets of the electric bus industry”.

Kameal Terry, CEO of ChargerHelp! said, “I recommend the Zero Emission Bus Conference to anyone. The content thoughtfully covered the entire zero-emission bus ecosystem from technology needs to the human development side. It was a great opportunity to learn how organizations such as ours can become partners in the fuel transition of bus agencies.”

This year’s conference is held in partnership with RE+, America’s largest renewable energy event. RE+ focuses on the business of power generation in the clean energy space, clean energy industry trends, policy, and forecasting. Together, our events help fleets and technology providers navigate the carbon-free paradigm from zero-emission vehicles to a renewable energy-powered grid.

ZEBCon includes tours of leading ZEB sites including Anaheim Transportation Network (ATN), Orange County Transportation Authority (OCTA), Foothill Transit, and Proterra’s state of the art bus and battery manufacturing facility in the City of Industry. Attendees will learn about ATN’s fleet of 46 BYD battery electric buses and its solar-powered bus charging facility and OCTA’s program to operate 10 fuel cell electric buses side-by-side with 10 battery electrics. Foothill will provide an overview of their existing Proterra battery electric fleet as well as its procurement of 30 fuel cell electric buses and a liquid hydrogen fueling station.

“As momentum builds around electrifying our nation’s bus fleets, CTE is excited to reconvene the leading event for fleet decision makers exploring battery and fuel cell electric bus and shuttle options,” said Lauren Justice, CTE’s Development Director. “The ZEB Conference addresses real world concerns and provides tempered strategies and tools for community leaders stepping into the zero-emission space.”
