Castrosua wins the Bus of the Year in Spain 2025 with its model on Volvo BZL chassis

Castrosua Nelec has been awarded with the Bus of the Year in Spain 2025 and the award to the Ecological Bus of the Year. The awarding took place in end January.

“We are very grateful, and we are especially pleased about these awards because the jury is made up of large transport operators and customers, so we feel it as a direct recognition by the market to the effort and work of a team, a real honour for us” says Beatriz Castro, CEO Castrosua Group. In late 2024 Arriva launched 21 new e-buses (by BYD – Castrosua) in Madrid.

Volvo BZL with Castrosua body awarded

Castrosua has strengthened strategic agreements with manufacturers such as BYD and Volvo, ensuring the integration of the best technologies on the market in its vehicles, as well as other brands such as Scania. On this occasion, the recognition of the NELEC model has been possible thanks to the collaboration with Volvo, which presented its BZL Electric chassis combined with Castrosua busbody at the awards.

During the last four years, Castrosua has made a clear commitment to 100% electric mobility for urban and suburban environments with its Nelec and 75 CS models respectively.
