Yutong announced the introduction of the IC12E model, a battery-electric intercity bus designed for long-range operations. The manufacturer claims a maximum range of 610 kilometers. It’s set to join the nascent European intercity electric bus market: in late 2024 Iveco and Daimler Buses presented their Crossway Elec and eIntouro, while Solaris will enter the market in 2026.

However, date or expo for unveiling has not been yet mentioned: maybe will it be showcased for the first time at Busworld Europe 2025?

To comply with EU General Safety Regulation (GSR), the Yutong IC12E integrates active safety technologies for pre-accident detection, hazard warnings, and intervention control. Intelligent driving assistance systems enhance warning, prevention, and avoidance capabilities, reducing the risk of collisions and rollovers.

The Yutong IC12E shares its visual design with the U-series, developed specifically for the European market. Yutong has established a presence in Europe with a range of electric buses tailored to local requirements, including double-decker and articulated models.

The rated power output is 215 kW, with a peak power of 350 kW. An optional configuration offers a rated power of 250 kW. The rated torque is 1,260 Nm, with a peak torque of 3,100 Nm, while the optional configuration increases rated torque to 1,680 Nm and peak torque to 3,800 Nm. The Yutong IC12E features a Cling electric heating and cooling air conditioning system with a refrigerating capacity of 32,000 Kcal/h and a heating capacity of 30,000 Kcal/h, according to the technical sheet.
