The exhibition spanned an impressive 75,000 square meters. One notable feature was the presence of 222 vehicles, with 29 of them available for outdoor demonstrations. Busworld Europe 2023 welcomed exhibitors from 38 different countries. Turkey took the lead with 96 companies, followed closely by Germany with 79 companies, and China with 61 companies.

Sustainable Bus Awards 2026 on delivery in Brussels
One of the key events at Busworld Europe 2025 in Brussels will be the announcement of the Sustainable Bus Awards 2026 winners, taking place during the Gala Night on October 3rd. The list of 14 finalist vehicles, competing in the Urban, Intercity, and Coach categories, was officially released on July 2nd. Several of the shortlisted models are being presented for the first time, including the BYD B18.b, the Iveco Bus G-Way, the Solaris Urbino 10.5 Electric, and the BYD 12.b HF.
The Sustainable Bus Award, promoted by a jury of trade journalists from ten European countries, aims to highlight vehicles that combine technological innovation, energy efficiency, safety, and environmental performance. The evaluation process will continue over the coming months, with attention to both technical specifications and the vehicles’ potential role within a sustainable public transport system.
What’s new?
Actia at Busworld Europe 2025
Actia will showcase its BOP G5/Hypervision platform, a fifth-generation onboard video surveillance system for public transport. The system enables real-time and retrospective video monitoring across buses, trams, and metro fleets via a unified interface. It supports journey reconstruction by location and simplifies footage analysis with automatic event tagging using CAN-Bus data.
Drivers can trigger live video alerts through an emergency button. In 2024, Actia reported €535.1 million in revenue and employs around 4,000 people worldwide.
Alfabus at Busworld Europe 2025

The Chinese OEM is concentrating its efforts on a series of new products ready for launch at Busworld. A 6-metre mini and a 13-metre intercity will be unveiled. In order (and at a glance). The 6.5-metre Ecity L06 with a long wheelbase (4.6 metres) will have a 176 kWh battery and capacity for 37 passengers. The e-Intercity L13 will carry 528 kWh of energy and 60 seated passengers. The 12-metre equipped for bottom-down pantograph charging will also arrive.
BYD at Busworld Europe 2025
As of mid-July, BYD has not yet officially disclosed details about its participation at Busworld Europe 2025. However, insights into the group’s upcoming developments can be gleaned from the announced shortlist of the Sustainable Bus Award 2026 finalists.
The Chinese manufacturer features across two categories (Urban and Intercity), with the articulated BYD B18.b and the 12-meter high-floor 12.b HF. We should assume that both vehicles will be on display in Brussels Expo’s halls.
Daimler Buses at Busworld Europe 2025

The Mercedes eIntouro will be available for orders in first quarter of 2025, but public launch will happen at Busworld Europe 2025 in Brussels. The near-production prototype of the BEV version of Daimler Buses’ intercity bus has been presented in November 2024 at eMobility Days in Berlin. This launch marks the debut of Daimler Buses in the nascent intercity electric bus market.
Interestingly enough, it’s equipped with a different set of battery and driveline than the eCitaro range, made of LFP batteries by CATL and central motor by ZF. Two lengths are available: the 12.18-metre eIntouro and the 13.09-metre eIntouro M. Seating variants from 50 to a maximum of 63 seats are covered.
The near-production prototype of the all-electric Mercedes eIntouro interurban bus is based on the diesel-powered Intouro, but is equipped with a battery-electric drive with LFP batteries and a central motor instead. As a result, Daimler Buses is able to switch to electric mobility for the first time for interurban routes, school buses, shuttle buses and excursion routes, as well as for short trips.
However, Daimler Buses will present a significant batch of news in Brussels, as shared by the group in late July. In total, Daimler Buses will be exhibiting a total of eight buses from Mercedes‑Benz and Setra at Stand 503 in Hall 5. Three other Mercedes‑Benz vehicles are available outside, two of which are ready for test drives.
Iveco Bus at Busworld Europe 2025
Iveco Bus will launch a new CNG-powered midibus at Busworld Europe 2025. Named G-Way (and also included in the shortlist of finalist for the Sustainable Bus Award 2026, that will be handed over at the expo), the bus is biomethane-compatible and will be presented for the first time, as will be the case for the eDaily Low Entry Minibus, which will be extending Iveco Bus’s zero-emission urban offering.

The G-Way is claimed as being the narrowest biomethane midibus on the market, available in 9.5 and 10.7-meter lengths with a width of just 2.33 meters, making it a versatile choice for operators facing accessibility challenges.
Complementing the G-Way, the eDaily Low Entry Minibus marks Iveco Bus’s expansion in electric urban mobility, offering a fully zero-emission solution designed for flexible, last-mile urban passenger transport. This new electric minibus broadens the manufacturer’s portfolio, addressing diverse operational needs with sustainable technology.
JBM at Busworld Europe 2025
JBM introduced two vehicles on the European market at Busworld 2023: the all-electric city bus Ecolife and the luxury coach (also battery-powered) Galaxy. Now, the Indian company plans an updated version of the electric coach to be coming at Busworld in 2025.
At least, this is what Daniel Fräde, Director of Sales, Marketing & After Sales Europe at JBM Group, told us at the European Mobility Expo 2024.
With over 5,000 electric buses already operational across various regions, JBM has clocked over 100 million electric kilometers and served more than 1 billion passengers in the last five years. The company aims to achieve over 1 billion e-kilometers and cater to 10+ billion passengers in the next 3-4 years.
MAN at Busworld Europe 2025
MAN Truck & Bus strengthens its electric mobility offering with a major premiere: the MAN eCoach will be the company’s first all-electric touring bus, designed as a zero-emission alternative to the Lion’s Coach. Series production is scheduled to begin in 2026 at the MAN plant in Ankara, Turkey. The NMC battery packs have been produced, since April, at the MAN plant in Nuremberg.
Features of the model were unveiled on 7th May in Ankara during a dedicated media and customers event. Definitive layout will be showed in Brussels. The MAN Lion’s Coach 14 E is a three-axle vehicle powered by in-house produced NMC battery packs, offering up to 534 kWh of total capacity.
In addition, news is also planned for the MAN Lion’s City E as model year 2025, scheduled for series production in the fourth quarter of the year. News that should already be seen in Hamburg at the UITP Summit: new in-house batteries, extended charging options, and to the optimization of the electric drivetrain.
Solaris at Busworld Europe 2025

Solaris Bus & Coach will present the Urbino 10.5 Electric at Busworld Europe 2025. The model was announced during the company’s annual results presentation on March 12, 2025. Designed for compact urban operations, the 10.5-meter e-bus features modular drive technology, although detailed technical specifications have not yet been released.
UNVI at Busworld Europe 2025
In 2025, Spanish bodybuilder UNVI will celebrate 30 years‘ history. At FIAA 2024 the company unveiled that in October 2025 it will present its new C26 urban and suburban bodywork at Busworld, “a modern, functional and sustainable model with maximum weight optimisation, designed with passenger and driver comfort in mind and made of environmentally friendly materials”, in UNVI’s words.
VDL at Busworld Europe 2025

VDL Bus & Coach is expected to launch a new generation of its Citea electric platform: increased battery efficiency, reduced vehicle weight, and fully modular architecture for urban and suburban use
VinFast at Busworld Europe 2025
Vietnamese manufacturer VinFast is set to present its new line of electric buses at Busworld Europe 2025 in Brussels, marking the first step of the company’s expansion into the European public transport market. What is quite interesting, in June VinFast has appointed Patrick Oosterveld, coming from Ebusco (before BYD) as Director of Sales eBus for the Netherlands.

The company will present a 12-meter electric city bus, already in service in Vietnam, with a range of 300-350 km, powered by Siemens technology. The brand emphasizes full vertical integration, from battery production to final assembly, and aims to enter five EU markets by 2026.
Component manufacturers’ offerings at Busworld 2025
ZF
ZF will present the latest evolution of its integrated electric axle, which combines motor, inverter, and transmission into a single compact unit to simplify installation and maintenance.
Voith
Voith will expand its eDrive product portfolio with a tailored solution for long-distance electric buses and coaches. The company will also introduce new hydrogen components in line with its multi-energy strategy.
More news to come at Busworld
Although many manufacturers are keeping their cards close to the vest until the final weeks before the event, if not until the show itself, there will be more real product news: from advances in batteries and hydrogen to long-distance electric mobility and software-driven fleet intelligence. Stay tuned!
